Agrii advance sustainable farming with expert agronomy and farm business support!
At test farms around the country their customers can visit sites to gain valuable insights around different crops which they can see for themselves growing in different soil types.
But this information needed to be presented digitally as well. That’s a lot of information for many different crop, soil types and climate conditions that needed to be readily accessed by customers.
As leading innovators in their ..’field’ (sorry), Agrii needed a web app that would bring to life their digital content with market leading style and innovation.
It simply wouldn’t do for an innovator to have anything less than an innovative website, would it? (Rhetorical question).
Here our focus was on defining the users, goals and requirements for the project.
To do this well involves understanding the client’s brand, business objectives, and audience, so we took time to understand them!
Key deliverables at this stage include defining the site’s purpose, identifying functionality needs, and creating user personas.
Establishing a clear scope here sowed the seeds that would guide the design and development process.
Also – back to that question around innovation – what would innovation look like for this audience whilst working within the technical and cultural parameters we had identified?
(Spoiler alert – we identified an opportunity for a new 360 treatment to help the user navigate the site’s content.
If being on the site was like being on a farm, with content all around you integrated into the farmyard that you find yourself in – that would be pretty innovative wouldn’t it?
– It would!
It would also be a ‘first of it’s kind’ kind of website – We could not find any previous references for presenting web content in this way – so we would to build it from scratch.
Drawing on the discovery stage, we progressed the site build by following our proven production process.
The site plan was drawn up; developed into a wire frame of the website, allowing us to ‘proof walk’ ourselves and the client through the site’s architecture and features.
Design concepts were also developed and refined for how it would look, and a tone might be set.
Then the build stage!
We made a structure for the client, with a back end interface which made it easy for them to populate the site with their content, and meant it would be easy to keep content updated in future.
We developed, tested and refined the code to allow a 360 interface – our virtual reality farm web page, with content which could readily be adapted for the different farms around the country.
We initially ran the site on a staging server so that all stakeholders could see and test the site in its operational form, but hidden from public view.
We then put the site live, running behind a log in gate, because that hearty Agrii intelligence is only for customers of Agrii!
Ongoing testing and review ensured the site was performing for vistors as hoped.
" From our first conversation, the team were brimming with ideas and enthusiasm, taking our brief and elevating it to a whole new level. With Liquona’s help we’ve been able to give our customers the information they need in a fun and unique way."
